Dear readers,
with my schonological blogue I want to spark your creativity, inspire you and help you increase the impact of your storytelling, to empower you to put your work into a wider context in light of current developments and to reflect on it to ensure it is fit for the future – whether you write novels, screenplays, non-fiction, for marketing or blogposts and regardless of whether you are just discovering the art of storytelling or are already an accomplished raconteur.
To this end, I am delighted to pass on my experience as a professional storyteller, and I also communicate scientific findings and theories in a general and easy-to-understand way to make them practicable.
I have been writing and drawing since my childhood, learned the graphic arts, studied media design, film studies, literary studies and philosophy, and I am working on a PhD in order to better grasp what grips us. Professionally, I work as a screenwriter and (chief) editor, I have also recently started working as a trainer for media designers. I occasionally lecture, give seminars/workshops and publish on film, series, literature, art, culture and more.
It is always a pleasure for me when the balancing act between high culture and popular culture succeeds, the reconciliation of both into a kind of “elevated entertainment” according to Leslie Fiedler’s credo: “Cross the border, close the gap”. I am passionately interested in how the zeitgeist inscribes itself into storytelling and how new, innovative artistic forms emerge from it – with the question: “What’s next?
I want to help overcome creative blocks, for Hemingway already subtly taught: “The first draft of anything is alway Shit”, so that your creative potential may be unleashed. Your journey is a work of art in progress.
Sincerely yours,
